About
Karen spent a career with the Air Force, both on active duty and as a civilian, supporting crazy test pilots. She retired to North Carolina to start a new adventure - living with her young grandsons. Between helping with homework and school pickups, Karen embarked on a second career as a screenwriter, as well as writer of fiction and nonfiction books. Now a "Grandma in the Attic", every day is full of love, challenges and surprises.

Top Gun with female pilots. An Air Force (AF) fighter pilot chases her dream of becoming a Thunderbird pilot as she tries to live up to her legendary grandmother, and be successful in her own right, while battling some of the same sexist obstacles her grandmother did forty years before.
“Grandma in the Attic” is a humorous lifestyle book, written from the grandma’s perspective, with sidebars written by “the son”, sharing how he deals with his mother in his house twenty-four seven. The short answer is: very patiently.
